about
“What we are is a practice. A form of exercise, growing and learning.”
‘A person does not step in the same river twice, for it’s not the same river and they are not the same person.’ Design is like the perennial stream that renews and is renewed with each immersion. Pavitra Rajaram marks her place in its vast continuum through a fluent, fluid practice ever exploring new shores.
A lifelong engagement with craft, an intuitive grasp of the zeitgeist and an abiding curiosity about people inform Pavitra's artistic vision. Her eye is nourished by such diverse influences as the paradisical gardens of Alhambra, the storied textiles of Asia and the vital voices of contemporary Indian art. As an artist, interior designer and creative strategist, she brings together vivid, varied narratives from history and culture, and creates space for fresh connections to be discovered.
Pavitra Rajaram Design is a collaborative practice led by a spirited team of architects, artists, designers and strategists. Representing a multitude of lived experiences, skill sets and backgrounds, Team PRD is united by a passion for nature, craft and storytelling.
